I have committed my support to this project and urge you to learn more about this new safehouse and how you might partner to help Crossroads advance its opening.

"I understand that Crossroads has committed to opening their emergency shelter program to domestic violence program in additional communities.  I am thrilled to see Crossroads taking a leadership position to connect with programs to reach the shared goals of eradicating domestic violence and leaving no battered woman ‘out in the cold.’ Creation of these close partnerships between domestic violence agencies and other social services organizations will strengthen the existing safety net for victims."

This model of service provision will be one of the first of its kind in the U.S.  I believe that with Crossroads’ experience in providing services outside of its local county and with the support of the Colorado agencies whose clients will benefit from this facility and program, this agency and this state are well-suited for a pilot program of this kind.  Beyond the ‘novelty’ of this project, we […] cannot continue to watch the numbers of domestic violence service requests go unmet with little more than a shake of the head.  We must support programs that are willing to take risks to attack the problem and that have the expertise to do so in competence, with the safety of victims in mind, and with the vision of long-term self-sufficiency for families recovering from domestic violence.”
