Crossroads Safehouse is getting closer to finding the money it needs to build a new shelter for victims of domestic violence, but it still has a way to go.
The nonprofit has commitments totaling 84 percent of the $5.5 million needed to build the project, Crossroads Executive Director Vicki Lutz told the Larimer County commissioners on Thursday.
The deadline for raising the rest of the money - $876,729 - is Oct. 22 in order to take advantage of foundation grants that are contingent on having adequate funding for the project in hand, Lutz said.
